The Biography of Elon Musk by University Press - Book Review
The Biography of Elon Musk by University Press
Thank you University Press for providing an advanced copy of this short biography of Elon Musk. This review expresses my own personal opinion.
This is a quick read on the life of the world's richest man, Elon Musk. The book captures you from the opening pages and gives you a glimpse into the world of Musk, his childhood, education, early successes and failures, the impact he has had and continues to have on the world.
Many see Musk as this extravagant, unemotional, spoiled billionaire who just happens to be successful because of his iconic brand, Tesla. While some, if not all, might be true, the author attempts to peel back a little bit of who Musk is, his foundation, the elements and experiences that made him into the man he is today. The book gives the reader a glimpse into his quirkiness, his brilliance, he holds bachelors degrees in physics and economics, business savvy, have you heard of PayPal, and some of his challenges, hellish upbringing by his father, suffers from Aspergers syndrome.
While the book is not on the level of Walter Isaacson, author of books on Steve Jobs, Leonardo DeVinci, Benjamin Franklin, and others, it is a good preamble to Isaacson’s newest book, Elon Musk.
As an investor in Tesla and former investor in Twitter (now called X), before Musk bought it and turned it private, I wanted to get an insight into the man behind the companies and University Press's book was a good start. I will be picking up Isaacson’s book for a more in-depth read on Musk and recommend UP's book as a quick start to anyone wanting to know more about the crazy genius behind Tesla, SolarCity and Tesla Energy, X, Starlink, Neuralink, The Boring Company, and SpaceX.
